Utah and I - SLC (part 2)

Day 183 / Mile 22,265

It's been a few years since I visited Salt Lake City, which I often did a decade ago as a pro snowboarder and had great times in their fluffy power and [at the time] big street rails. The most recent time was to photograph Olympic gold medalist Sage Kotsenburg for an Arnette advertisement. My friend Brendan Gerard who I've gotten published a few times now lives there and was excited to catch with him and the rest of the locals.

When many people think of SLC they typically relate it to the large Mormon community there.

I've seen many LDS temples and am always fascinated with their striking architecture.

We hiked up to H rock in Highland. I want to repaint it into a big R.

It's a great view from there. Gerry approves.

Another popular painted spot is Suicide Rock. We met these random girls who just finished spray painting an alien near the top.

I finally got to check out the Spedellis restaurant, and partied with my former Arnette riders Ben Bogart and Ben Bilodeau. Aaron Biittner poured up some drinks on Pat Moore's 'shot-board' to start up the good times.

I went camping with a big group of friends a couple hour drive outside of town. It was really fun to do what I've been doing, but getting to share it with a posse.

Bogart has a turtle named Felicia. She's pretty mean, but I wanted to have a photoshoot anyways.

We found this little windlip and built a jump into it. This fs air to fakie was a self-portrait shot by the remote in my hand. Still got it!

This whole visit to SLC ended up lasting 2 weeks. It was a nice break from driving, felt good to catch up on editing pics from the last month, but was great to see some friends. Now I'm off to see more of Utah's amazing geography, and heading back south.
